Urpiner Kaprál 11%

Type: Polotmavý/semi adrk lager
ABV: 4.5%

Kaprál translates to “corporal” but this beer is also known as Urpiner Desmod which is a Slovak metal band.  Desmod roughly translates to “blood thirsty bat”…  On the Urpiner site, if you display the page in English it will call the beer Urpiner Desmod.  Confusion aside, this beer has a slightly bitter taste with a mild malt and hop aroma.  In 2012, it won a gold medal at the České Budějovice Beer Festival.

Martiner 10%

Type: Bohemian pilsner
ABV: 3.8%

Martiner’s light beer is malt-y with a slight bitter taste.  It’s surprisingly rich for a beer with such a low alcohol content.
